Double euro cylinders are the most common lock we are asked to replace, change, or install on new homes. They can be found on virtually any door type, actuating multi-point locking mechanisms, or euro sash or deadlocks. These types of locks can also be found on metal and wooden gates, providing excellent security, ergonomics and aesthetics.

Double euro cylinders can be classified as key-to-key, thumb turn, or euro half cylinders. While the key-to key and thumb turn are mainly found on gates or external and internal doors, the half-euro cylinder is fitted more commonly on garage doors. The euro cylinders can be standard 5 or 6 pins, or high security anti-snap, anti-drill, anti-pull and anti-pick.

A separate mention about anti-snap cylinders is that some brands even offer a break-in guarantee of up to 5000 pounds. This is in case a break-in happens, using the cylinder snapping method. We can supply and install these types of cylinders, as part of our antisnap lock package, such as the ERA 3-star, which is Sold Secured Diamond rated.

Mortice locks are fitted to external and internal wooden doors, as well as some gates. They can be 2, 3, 4 and 5 levers. Most commonly, on external doors, 5-lever British Standard sash and deadlocks can be found. For external wooden doors, our new home lock package will always recommend British Standard BS3621 sash or deadcases. 

The BS3621 mortice lock offers added protection compared to the standard 5 lever locks, such as resistance to sawing on the deadbolt. Also, the levers are configured with false gates, making it extremely difficult to pick. The front and back covers are fitted with anti-drill plates, to resist drilling.

Our preferred mortice lock is from ERA, namely the Fortress range. This is available in deadlock or sash lock versions, in various colors. Comes with two keys as standard, and we can cut extra keys on request, using our mobile key cutting service.

Having your gate locks replaced on your new home, is a good idea, to prevent entry by unauthorized persons. While the locks on the gates are smaller in range compared to door locks, having the right gate furniture is imperative. From a simple latch to more complex digital locks, the choice is only yours.

This reduces the number of keys you will need to operate the locks on your property. The keyed alike locks are available to be installed on most wooden and metal gates.
